PROJECT: WELLNESS_SCALING_01
CLIENT_SECTOR: MENTAL HEALTH / ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE
TECH_STACK: WORDPRESS • ACTIVECAMPAIGN • MYSQL
STATUS: [ POC_VALIDATED | SYSTEM_SCALED ]
The Ditch:
A referral reached out with a manual process to turn a handful of Google forms used to track mental wellness for athletes. He was at capacity and needed to transition his personal interaction model into a “one-to-many” platform to help more people.
The Discovery:
To stay “noble and lean,” WordPress could act as an application framework rather than a blog. Specialized plugins + custom MySQL queries could replicate his manual scoring/reporting logic. This “Franken-site” (as the client called it) allowed rapid, low-cost iterations based on real-user feedback that a hard-coded solution would have prohibited.
The Stewardship:
I architected a “noble and lean” proof-of-concept using WordPress and ActiveCampaign integration, pushing off-the-shelf plugins into custom territory with specialized MySQL queries for reporting and personalized performance insights. WooCommerce provided access control, while ActiveCampaign handled complex weekly assessment logic. As the user base surged to 1,000+ concurrent athletes, I researched and migrated the system to an auto-scaling, load-balanced hosting environment designed for WordPress.
The Solution:
The platform served high school, college, and corporate clients for several years, bridging a manual idea to a proven business and providing a clear roadmap for their eventual proprietary build.
