The Ditch:

Years after pivoting to online (following the loss of his satellite TV deal), the client wanted to regain the “lean-back” television experience by moving beyond YouTube into the Roku ecosystem. But enterprise video delivery networks were priced for large corporations, leaving a solo distributor with high-quality content and no affordable way to broadcast to living rooms.

The Discovery:

Roku requires an external “Source of Truth” for video feeds. The project needed to balance high-bitrate encoding for TV playback with hosting that wouldn’t bankrupt the client, while evolving the web presence from a standard site to a modern “Streaming UI” (Netflix/Hulu style) for mobile and desktop viewers.

The Stewardship:

I researched and vetted a cost-effective Video CDN (Content Delivery Network) to host the Roku feed, managed high-quality re-encoding of the video library, and designed/tested TV-interface assets for legibility on 10-foot displays. Then rebuilt the WordPress site with a custom-engineered layout modeled after mainstream streaming apps for native-feel engagement.

The Outcome:

The client launched a professional-grade Roku channel and a modernized “Streaming-First” website, maintaining brand authority and generating direct audience revenue until his show was picked up by a new television network for broader distribution.
